THE ITS STORY INSCRIPTION.
We spoke earlier about ITS CONTEST. Well let's go into a little more detail. ITS Contest is made up of 5 key moments and on these screens, from left to right, we have summarised the timeline of the contest.
We begin with SCOUTING, when we travel to meet and discover students in schools around the world. We have travelled to all five continents, wherever there was a school and the possibility of discovering a young talent. Today, digital technologies allow us to broaden the horizon of our research, interviewing more and more young people and discovering more and more projects.
We continue with perhaps the most exciting moment, the arrival of the portfolios with the projects entered in the contest. The opening of the packages is always full of great surprises: over the years we have received portfolios inside blocks of ice or cement, inside balloons full of confetti. Every year we discover that there really is no limit to imagination. In this phase we go through each project several times, preparing for the jury that will select the finalists from a shortlist of around 150/200 projects from approximately 1,000 entries. The next stage is the selection of the finalists, and is perhaps the most delicate phase of the entire competition. Once the finalists have been selected, the actual EVENT PRODUCTION phase starts, which includes the development and creation of staging, communication materials, videos, texts, and the choice of music for the fashion show. All towards the achievement of the last step, the FINAL EVENT where the finalists come to Trieste
to present their projects to an audience of industry experts, international press and an extended jury that decides the winners. The culmination is the fashion finalists' runway show, and the accessories and jewellery exhibitions – in the past, we have also had an important photography competition for many years. The event is a cathartic moment, where there are no VIP areas or divisions. Everyone meets, everyone gets the opportunity to get to know each other, to make connections and collaborations. Love stories were born at ITS, as well as collaborations and friendships that last to this day. Life, in short.
