Intro Exhibition

GUIDE STANDING ON THE RIGHT CORNER LOOKING AT THE VIDEO

We present the curator of the exhibition: Olivier Saillard.

A fashion historian, he was the Director of the Palais Galliera, the Paris Fashion Museum, for almost twenty years. He has more than 200 exhibitions to his credit.

His peculiarity is that he is extremely poetic in his curatorial decisions, always managing to build connections and narrative modes that lead to poetry.

Olivier tiptoed into our archive without a precise idea of how he would set up the exhibition. Letting his instincts guide him, he built the curatorship of the exhibition starting with the first outfit that caught his eye, which then inspired his final idea, which was to identify six clusters within which to include outfits, accessories and jewellery from our archive, creating a dialogue with art free of any temporal constraints. The clusters refer to artistic, literary and architectural moments that the non-fashion-conscious visitor is probably familiar with, making the interpretation of the exhibition choice easier to understand. In his interview, Olivier considers ITS ARCADEMY potentially as the first fashion museum entirely dedicated to the most contemporary forms and expressions of our time, emphasising that it can compete with the collections of the world's great museums.

THE GUIDE ENTERING THE GALLERY (walking facing the visitors):

We now enter the Gallery, which is the main exhibition space. A whispery, suspended, evocative place. Precisely for this reason, the choice has been made to caress the clothes with low lighting, set at 60 lumens to protect them. Before entering, acclimatise your eyes and soul and prepare to immerse yourself in a magical space that symbolically represents an Ark, which after a long journey lasting 20 years has landed here with its precious cargo stored inside crates as one does with works of art. A treasure finally landed in its natural harbour: ITS ARCADEMY. Let's enter!
