Concept:

Documenting the disappearance of traditional funeral ceremony on the island of Java. The deceased is buried into the main wall of a new home to give soul and perfection to the building. By also driving inspiration from Gustav Klimt’s paintings he created a collection that combined eastern elements with western aesthetics from the end of the 19th century. The fabrics were treated to give the sensation of a man trapped inside a wall.

The goal was to come up with a melancholy yet romantic and powerful menswear collection, made of outfits that are refined and rough at the same time. A collection in which East meets West and old traditions meet new traditions.
