THE SOUL OF A BOY

Concept:

Hiroki has been in love with cars since a very young age, a passion he got from his father. The reason he then chose to become a footwear designer is that he found there were similarities between cars and shoes. For instance, the shape of shoes can remind that of a car but most importantly, they both carry people. The collection tries to bridge the two, by using lead as the main material and referencing down-force geometries of racing cars for the shapes. The aim was to come up with a style that would be justified and coherent, at the same time paying tribute to Hiroki’s chilhood passion.
