Balance and proportion

Concept:

Inspired by documentary photography capturing garments thrown randomly on the body, to show how they would often hang and drape in an interesting manner. Eleanor McDonald reverse-engineered these distortions so each garment in her collection looks subtly off-balance. Everything was intentionally cut and fitted on men with the intent that it could be worn by anyone. This shifted the proportion and silhouette again, mirroring the starting point of her clothes, which can be considered traditional with an underlying sensuality. A sensuality which comes from the tactile nature of the design process and the importance placed on how each garment feels when it is worn.
